With today’s advancements in health care and special emphasis on preventive care, older Americans are experiencing a future of better health and longevity. APC Homemaker Services provides Primary Home Care (PHC) and Family Care Services under the Home and Community Support Services Agency (HCSSA) Personal Assistance Services (PAS) license through a contract with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. PHC is a non-technical, medically related personal care service prescribed by the physician as part of a client’s plan of care. PHC is available to eligible Medicaid clients whose health problems cause them to be functionally limited in performing activities of daily living. A PHC attendant provides each client's needed services.
Family Care is a block grant funded non-skilled, non-technical service provided to eligible aged or disabled adults who are functionally limited in performing daily activities. A person able to have a family-like relationship with the client may provide services, (example: a family member, a friend, or a neighbor).
