What are the application requirements for a standard APC Provider?
At APC, we require standard Provider attendants to be at least 18 years of age and have a valid ID, such as a state-issued ID, Drivers License, Social Security card, or work permit. Providers must also pass a background check and not be listed on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry or in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) employability records.
For those who will be Provider attendants for children, APC requires applicants to hold a high school diploma as well as references and proof of at least one year of experience working with children in this capacity.
What kinds of tasks should I be able to perform as an APC Provider?
Working as a Provider requires a specific set of physical, mental, experiential, and emotional skills and abilities for you to satisfactorily assist and provide the utmost level of comfort for those in your care. A Criminal History Check must be conducted prior to hire. APC will call The Employee Misconduct Registry to ensure the applicant is not on the registry for acts of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation. We will also confirm with The Nurse Aide Registry that the applicant has never been listed on the Employee Misconduct Registry and had their certification revoked for acts of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation.
Work Environment:
The work environment varies from home to home as assigned to provide services to the consumer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions. The temperature in the consumer’s home may be unstable and may vary from normal, cold, warm, or hot.
